Thanksgiving Aftermath.

Well... I swelled up like a balloon.  Probably from all the extra sodium I'm not used to consuming in one day.  My ring was tight!  After every Thanksgiving I make a soup with the leftover turkey, some of the veggies and I add in the mirepoix (onions, celery, carrots).  However with all the super consuming I did on Thanksgiving and then Saturday for dinner we went to Gyu-Kaku which is this Japanese BBQ restaurant in the city, I think I consumed soooo much salt and meats that my body went overload.  I thought I was pretty careful about adding salt to everything.
Today, I had some soup since that's mostly water anyways, and I'm making myself a vinegar salad.  I also bought some superfood juice, even though I should make it myself, it really just saves me time since it has whole fruits and veggies.  I would really love to eventually purchase a juicer and have that at least once a day or even a few times a week. Buying all the vegetables and fruits to go into the juicer can get pretty expensive.  It's something like $20-$30 a day of veg/fruit.
I'm bummed cause I can feel my blood pressure getting ridiculously high, constant headaches and I'm certain the caffeine isn't helping.  I'm going to eventually have to cut out caffeine and incorporate more veggies, fruits, whole grains into my diet.
Ok so this week's goals: Get back on track at last till Christmas, get some walking done before my trip to Colorado and before it gets wicked cold.
Think more foods in it's raw form, more fish less red meats.
A little interesting thought... I was watching Gordon Ramsay's Great Escape, where he visits different places in India because apparently Indian food is like how Chinese food is in the US.  Anyways so he goes to this Ashram, Sadhguru (http://www.ishafoundation.org/), his theory is bad attitudes come from eating red meats.  So of course Gordon Ramsay freaks out that there is no meat, poultry or anything but vegetables and fruits.  He spends 3 days there, by the 3rd day Sadhguru laughed in a private interview and said "his attitude is calmer already, no?" LOL it's true he was calmer and it was interesting because in the episode they did mention how it helps with flexibility as well.  Anyways if anyone has time just check out that website it's pretty interesting.

I hadn't weighed myself because I know I'm still retaining a lot of water.  So I'm hoping tomorrow morning, or the next couple of days to reset myself.  Most likely I gained some weight from Thanksgiving though wuh wuh waaaaa.
